I started cutting hair in my early twenties, and for me, it was an easy choice because I had a natural knack for it. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would always love it — the way something you love can change once it becomes your livelihood. But that never happened. In fact, the longer I’ve done it, the more I’ve come to love it.

Honestly, I can’t imagine doing anything else. Cutting hair is good soul work. It can be frustrating, exhilarating, and humbling all at once, but more than anything, it’s about connection. No other industry I know of creates the kind of relationships we build with our clients. That connection has been captivating enough to hold my attention for almost 40 years.
