I started cutting hair when I was in my early twenties. For me it was an easy choice because I had a knack. Although I wasn’t sure that I was going to love it always. The way you take something you love and you turn it into and livelihood and it becomes something different. But that never happened. And quite the contrary. The longer I do it the more I love it. I honestly can’t imagine doing anything else. Cutting hair is good soul work. It can be all the things. It can be frustrating. Exhilarating. Humbling. But like I said in the video it’s honestly about the connection. No other industry that I know of gets to have the same relationship and connection with their clients the way mine does. And my industry has been captivating enough to hold my attention for almost 40 years.
